This site focuses on my hand-drawn pet portraits done primarily in graphite. These are done using a combination of different artist pencils and charcoal sticks, erasers, and sometimes blending sticks. The finished product is sprayed with a spray fixative to prevent smudging and loss of quality over time.
PAPER SIZES & COMPOSITION
My portraits are sized 8x10, 9x12, or 11x14. An 8x10 drawing will look rather small on its own, but is a great size for someone ordering multiple pieces to be displayed together. I don't typically add much background detail to my portraits, however if the subject of a portrait is in an unusual position, sometimes a bit of background beyond simple shading is needed in order to place or anchor the subject. I do not frame any of my commissioned works for customers, however the paper sizes I use are all easily framable sizes.
MULTIPLE PETS PER PIECE
I can do portraits involving multiple pets as represented by the photo provided to me. I will not collage multiple pets into one piece from separate reference photos. An 8x10 size is not recommended for this type of job.
SHIPPING
All finished portraits are shipped flat in between sheets of trace and cardboard protectors. I use USPS unless otherwise discussed. Expect an average ship time of 5 business days, however this is not guaranteed. It is recommended that portraits are opened and removed from packaging upon receiving so that heat and/or acid from packing supplies do not affect the drawing/s. Additional shipping charges might be added if shipping outside of the U.S.
SOCIAL MEDIA
I tend to post the majority of my finished pieces on social media, and sometimes an in-process photo as well. If for any reason a customer does not want their commissioned piece posted on social media, or in this website gallery, they are welcome to let me know upon ordering.
